FBR Approves Monthly Financial Aid of Rs. 25,000 for Children with Disabilities of Customs Officers

In a significant move to support families of employees with special needs, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has approved a monthly financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for children with disabilities of Pakistan Customs officers.
This decision follows amendments made to the Unified Common Pool Fund Rules, 2019, allowing the provision of financial aid specifically for the welfare of differently-abled children of officers serving in the Customs Department.
To implement this initiative, the FBR has formally requested data from all Chief Collectors and Director Generals regarding employees with disabled children. Officers have been instructed to submit relevant details, including:
- Name of the employee
- Current job designation
- Number of children with disabilities
- A valid government-issued disability certificate for each child
This policy applies to all Customs officers from Grade 1 to Grade 22. The FBR emphasized that complete documentation, including certified disability certificates, must be provided to ensure eligibility and transparency in the disbursement process.
This step by the FBR reflects a commitment to inclusivity and support for government employees managing the challenges of raising children with special needs.
