Govt. Decided to Impose 50,000 Rs Fine on Driving Without License

The Government of Sindh has introduced strict new penalties to improve road safety and reduce traffic violations. Under the new rules, anyone driving without a valid license will face heavy fines:
- Motorcycle Riders: A fine of Rs. 25,000 if caught riding without a driving license.
- Car Drivers: A fine of Rs. 50,000 for driving a car without a valid license.
This decision is part of a broader effort by the provincial government to enforce traffic laws more strictly and ensure safer roads for everyone.
Fines for Other Traffic Violations
In addition to license-related penalties, the Sindh government has proposed higher fines for other traffic rule violations:
- Driving in Wrong Direction:
- Motorcycle and car riders will be fined up to Rs. 25,000.
- Drivers of government vehicles going the wrong way will be fined Rs. 200,000.
- One-Wheeling and Stunt Riding:
- First Offense: Rs. 100,000 fine
- Second Offense: Rs. 200,000 fine
- Third Offense: Rs. 300,000 fine
These new fines aim to discourage dangerous behaviors and protect both drivers and pedestrians on the roads.
Vehicle Fitness and Monitoring Plans
To support these new measures, the government is also working on improving vehicle safety and traffic monitoring systems:
- Fitness Checks: All vehicles, whether personal or commercial, will need to pass regular inspections from third-party testing centers.
- Cameras and Tracking:
- Heavy vehicles like water tankers and dump trucks will be fitted with sensors and GPS trackers.
- Cameras will be installed inside cargo trucks to monitor activities.
System Upgrades and Enforcement
The new traffic plan also includes updates to enforcement systems:
- E-Challans: Digital traffic tickets (e-challans) will be issued and sent to the vehicle owner’s registered address. Failure to pay the challan will block the vehicle’s sale or transfer.
- Integrated Data System: Transport, traffic, and excise departments will now work together to track violations and update records.
- Traffic Magistrate Appointment: A special magistrate will be appointed to speed up hearing and resolution of traffic-related cases.
Implementation and Cabinet Approval
These new fines and rules will come into effect after formal approval by the Sindh Cabinet. Once passed, they will be enforced throughout the province, including in major cities like Karachi.
