Punjab Launches E-Taxi Scheme 2025 – Registration Open Apply Now
- The Punjab government has introduced a new E-Taxi Scheme 2025 to make transportation more eco-friendly and reduce pollution in the province.
- This plan is part of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s goal to bring green and clean travel options for the people of Punjab.
- Recently, the government approved the basic setup of the project. In the beginning, 1,100 electric taxis will be launched. Along with that, solar-powered charging stations will also be set up.
- To support this program, the Punjab government will also provide financial support (subsidies) to help people afford these electric taxis. The Transport and Mass Transit Department has partnered with the Bank of Punjab to manage this program.
Who Can Register?
The department is inviting applications from:
- Electric vehicle companies (OEMs)
- Authorized dealers in Pakistan
- Distributors and joint ventures
Vehicles need to fulfill the essential criteria outlined in the scheme.

Applications should be sent before June 24, 2025 along with all necessary documents.

Financial Help for Taxi Buyers
- Purchasers can avail a loan of up to Rs. 6.5 million per electric taxi. The loan period will be five years, and the government will also help with initial payment (equity).
